Being a student in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) means that each child is given an opportunity to explore his/her interest areas through a balanced curriculum. Students develop international-mindedness and global citizenship through the incorporation of local and global issues into the curriculum by focusing on the six globally significant IB transdisciplinary themes.
In the primary years, the learning and teaching prioritises student agency, wherein the voice, choice, and ownership of the learners are regarded as paramount. We nurture our students’ belief in agency– which is closely related to self-efficacy, a belief in one’s own ability to succeed; and give them all the necessary knowledge and skills (and nurture the right mindset) that they will need to succeed in their next phase–Middle School.

The PYP is designed for students aged 3 to 12. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It is a framework guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance, explored using knowledge and skills derived from six subject areas, as well as transdisciplinary skills, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry.

Welcome to the Primary Years Programme (PYP)

At Premier, we are proud to offer the IB Primary Years Programme, a student-centered curriculum designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning in our youngest learners. The PYP nurtures the whole child by integrating academic, social, and emotional learning through inquiry-based and transdisciplinary teaching approaches.

Our dedicated team of educator’s works collaboratively to create a supportive and engaging environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore concepts, and take meaningful action in their learning journey. We emphasize international-mindedness, critical thinking, and learner agency—core values that empower students to become compassionate and responsible global citizens.
